At Ulew Atitlan we strive to inspire and educate individuals and communities to thrive, finding the best use of the resources that surround us to create amazing living spaces. We incorporate new techniques and ancient knowledge to build a bright future.
We offer workshops and create structures – domes, vaults and pyramids, with stabilized earth, water, bags and barbed wire (Super Adobe) which can be applied to any scale, from playgrounds to eco-villages.
Super Adobe is an easy building technology that all age groups can participate in. Super Adobe makes good use of resources, building with the elements present, soil and water, stabilized if necessary and coiled into structures. Hybrid structure with bamboo open the door for larger, affordable homes.
It is our goal that the instructors of Ulew Atitlan work one on one with local community building parks, recreation areas, as well as a larger, stronger and more affordable structures.
Beyond housing, at Ulew Atitlan we are inspired by nature to create sustainable ecosystems that will provide us with clean food and water for generations to come. Ulew Atitlan strives to be self sustaining and is currently financed through Mani Padme S.A. Ulew Atitlan gladly accepts funds for scholarships for local and national students that qualify and we are actively looking for alliances and partnerships to further the scope of our work. Ulew Atitlan turns no one away for lack of funds.
